The following are basic contest rules applying to any and all contests run by KMVA. Each contest may have its own special qualifications and eligibility rules in which case a separate list of rules will be available for public inspection.

1. All KMVA contests are open to listeners over 13 years of age unless stated otherwise. Contest winners must also reside in the state of Arizona unless stated otherwise. Employees of KMVA, its licensee, affiliated entities, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the state of Arizona and the members of their immediate families and/or households are ineligible to participate or win.

2. Listeners are eligible to win a KMVA contest only once every 30 days. Only one winner per household is permitted in any KMVA contest.  Unless stated otherwise, multiple entries by the same person or by a person in the same household will be discarded and be deemed by the station management as a cause for disqualification.

Calendar-Year Clause: Listeners are only eligible to win one prize valued at $500 or more in one calendar-year (i.r. January – December).

3. All prizes and prize certificates may be picked up at the office of KMVA at 4747 N. 7^th St, Suite 424, Phoenix , AZ 85014.  KMVA may require contest winners to sign a participant/winner/travel release, show a valid driver’s license, social security card, passport, etc. before awarding any prize, solely at its discretion.  The winner will forfeit any prize or prize certificate not claimed within 30 days of winning. The 30 day period includes weekends and holidays. KMVA business hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm local time. KMVA will not notify winners of time remaining on prizes to be picked up. It is the winner’s responsibility to claim their prize within the time limit. Additionally, some prizes have specific expiration dates or are date sensitive (ie. concert tickets), which may occur within the 30 days following the winning date. It is the responsibility of the winner to pick up their prize by the event or expiration date.

4. All prizes must be claimed by the winner only. If the winner is under 18 years of age, they will need to bring a legal guardian with them to pick up their prize and fill out the necessary paperwork. In the event that a winner requests that a prize or prize certificate be mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore winner assumes the risk of its loss.  The Station is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.

5. KMVA is not responsible for replacing any prizes after they have been picked up, whether the prize was lost, organization providing the prize has closed, or for any other reason.

6. KMVA is not responsible for lost, stolen, mangled, misdelivered, postage due, illegible, incomplete or late entries.  KMVA is not responsible for telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions and any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from completing his or her telephone call.  In the event of a dropped call, telephone line or mobile phone malfunction or phone disconnection, the decision of KMVA management will be final. In the event that two (2) telephone lines are "tied together" during a phone-in contest, the entire call will be disqualified and the next caller in line will be taken.   KMVA will not award duplicate prizes to both parties in a “tied together” situation.

7. There are no substitution, transfer or cash equivalents for prizes, except that KMVA may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash. The prizes are expressly limited to the items described and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses, unless stated otherwise.  Other restrictions may apply.  In situations where the prize is a trip giveaway, seating will be coach class and accommodations will be standard.  Expiration dates and blackout dates may apply.  Winners and their travel companions, if any, will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes, such as hotel, hospitality and transport taxes, telephone charges, meals, gratuities, transfers, spending money, etc. unless specifically stated.  The winner may also be required to present a valid credit card upon check-in at hotel to cover any incidental expenses.  The guest or guests, if any, must be at least 18 years of age or be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. 

8. In regards to special advanced movie screening giveaways, KMVA strongly recommends you arrive early.  Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and passes do not guarantee seating. No one will be admitted without a ticket and no one will be admitted after the screening begins. Representatives have the right to refuse admittance.

9. Listeners may also register to win prizes on the KMVA website. Winners of the various contests are chosen randomly from among all eligible entries received. KMVA is not responsible for entries not received due to the difficulty accessing the internet, service outages or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches. All on-line entries must be filled out completely.  Contestants are required to provide truthful information and KMVA will reject and delete any entry that it discovers to be false or fraudulent.  KMVA will disqualify any entry from individuals who do not meet the eligibility requirements, and KMVA will also delete any entry received from persons under the age of 13 in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.

10. To enter on-line, you must enter your first name and last name, complete address, city, state, zip code, home telephone number and valid email address and any other requested information in the on-line entry form. Only one internet entry per person and one internet entry per email address is permitted. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address.

11. KMVA, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process, the operation of the KMVA website or is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned including because of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any kind.

12. For contests that require qualification, listeners may qualify only once, unless otherwise specified.

13. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, KMVA in its sole discretion may require contest winners (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold the station, its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.

14. All contest entries become property of KMVA.  KMVA may retain any or all contest materials for any reason that the station’s management deems crucial to the completion of the contest, or for reasons relating to publicity or advertising.

15. Unless otherwise stated, any contest conducted at a facility where a paid admission is required, may be entered at the KMVA studios prior to the event or through a station representative at the event, without any paid consideration to enter the event. 16. Individuals younger than 21 shall not be eligible to participate in contests conducted at facilities with an age requirement of 21 years of age or older.

 17. KMVA reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.  If due to circumstances beyond the control of station, any competition or prize-related event is delayed, rescheduled, postponed, cancelled, or has a change of venue, KMVA reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.  All decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.

18. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners.  Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.

19. By participating in a contest, the winner or winners agree to have their name, voice or likeness used in any and all advertising or broadcasting materials relating to this contest, without additional compensation, and, where legal, to sogn a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.

20.  KMVA is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of a contest, or in the announcement of a prize.

21. No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase the chance of winning.  Contests are void where prohibited. 

22. Failure to comply with the KMVA contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification solely at the discretion of KMVA.

23. In the case of a grand prize drawing from qualifying winners, KMVA will make every attempt to contact the grand prize winner, randomly selected, by phone to notify them of their prize. If the winner cannot be contacted in a timely manner (to be determined by management) another grand prize winner will be randomly selected from among the remaining entries. Duplicate prizes will not be awarded.

24. In the event that the winner of a KMVA cannot take a trip on the specific dates that have been announced (ie. concert, trip flyaway), they will forfeit their prize. A substitute trip will not be provided.

25. The odds of winning a contest will depend on the method of winner selection.  If winners are to be chosen randomly from among all eligible entries received, the odds of winning will depend upon the number of eligible entries received.  When applicable, tie-breaking procedures will be utilized as deemed appropriate.

26.  In some cases, the winner or winners will need to listen or be present to win.

27.  Copies of the written contest rules (and a list of winners, when complete) are available during regular business hours, 9 amto 5 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding Trumper Communications holidays, at the KMVA studios. Studios are located at 4747 N. 7^th St. Suite 424,Phoenix,AZ82014.
