Your Quick & Simple Review: “A Simple Favor”

Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), a mommy & video blogger, looking to find out the truth about her best friend Emily’s (Blake Lively) sudden disappearance from their small town.

The first thing that comes across clearly in this film, is the chemistry between Anna and Blake.  Although their characters, in this story, are meeting for the first time, quickly, you see how well these two get along.  Which helps sell the “best friend” part of the story.

What I appreciated about this Mystery/Suspense film the most, unlike a lot of films in the same genre, it wasn’t a complicated story.  It was just a good one.  As it went on, it did hit a small slow point during the 2nd act, however, I was constantly intrigued about where it was going.  Then you throw in the perfectly timed comedic relief, mostly from Anna, a few martini’s and this becomes a fun movie you wouldn’t mind seeing again.
