Boston Marathon Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Sentenced to Death

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been sentenced to death for killing three people in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, the worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11. The sentence marks the first time a federal jury has condemned a criminal to death since the aforementioned 2001 attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center, reports The New York Times. Tsarnaev’s lead attorney, Judy Clarke–who helped The Unabomber avoid the death penalty–argued unsuccessfully that her client was manipulated by his evil older brother, who was killed as the siblings tried to elude capture in the hours after the attack.
